The public opinion researching center in Huazhong University of Science and Technology ,authorized by the College of Public administration ,was started in 2008.It was developed by cooperation with the Propaganda Department of Hubei Provincial Party Committee. Now it has become the important research center for risk management in name of the provincial humane research base and one of the direct reporting network system for Central Committee.
The main research fields of our center include: the theory of public opinion, public opinion on internet, social security and the public sentiment in colleges. Our main objective in the future is to build the higher level and important studying, advising and training center of public opinion and our main aim is to reach the specialization and practicality of public opinion work and get the depth and specialization of public opinion theory.
The public opinion researching center has an excellent work team of 33 people , among whom 2 are professors (they are doctoral advisors), 4 are associate professors, 1 lecturers and 4 lab researchers, 12 masters. We also employed many part-time researchers to join in our labs.
The center launched lots of exchanges and knowledge sharing with many organizations ,such as the Tianjian and Shanghai branch of CSAA, Communication university of China and the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee. The executive director of public opinion researching center, Professor Wang Guohua ,has always been invited as the professor on public opinion researching field to attend the conferences of information security hold by the the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee.
